I'm not much for blogs, but this is cool. Came across this on the UofC website promoting "bike to work" day. I too commute by bike and work at the university but couldn't be persuaded to change my tires for the studded tire and knobby I bought before the snow. I ended up taking the bus most of the winter. Seeing this site, I now believe it is possible. Great photos too.

I wanted to bike to work as well, but I find the roads are too dangerous, or maybe I don't know the secret routes yet as I am new here. I can't find any good information as well on well established bike routes. I live in the North East side of the city and I am working somewhere South West (54 ave and 11 st.). I am hoping that the city would come up with some real and established routes throughout Calgary.

Bike routes off the main roads is the key to getting around town, for sure.
The City has a map that shows the routes, which you can find online here: www.calgary.ca/emaps

I'm not too familiar with that side of the city.

You might want to check out bikecalgary.org and ask some people on there about their favorite routes.
